Default 16x7 trashcans on 924S?

with the 16x7 all around tyrashcan, what year 928 did thoose mainly come off of, and what would the majority of these be offset wise?

is the 65 offset a no go?

I love the pics posted here of the black 924S running these

very ready to lose the 15" phone dials

the 15x6 phone dials are basically zero demand used right?

Well....waaaaaay back in 1988 when I bought my 924S new, there was a black 924S at the dealer with the 928 (I thought they were called sewer lids as well) wheels on it. So, uh, I'll guess a 1988 928.
Regarding the worth of a 15x6 phone dial, back after I broke one on my 924S and needed a replacement I found they
were rare as hen's teeth. So, they're worth squat until you need one and can't find one.

A 1/2" spacer ought to do it. That would bring the effective offset back down close to the 52 you need.

Here's 928 rims on my 924S. These are off a 928 S4, so the rear rims are bigger than the front. The only thing I needed to do was to put a small spacer on the front. They feel great, but a lot different than the 15 phonies.

dude, Po924S, you're what makes me want to go trashcan

those look great, I have a black/black 924s also. I think black is a rad look for these cars

if the set is all 7", do you think theres a good chance theyre the 52 offset, or were theyt mostly 65? im having the guy check, but he's an hour away, and people usually get this kind of stuff wrong even when they check

if i did have to buy spacers, whats the best deal on that?

Trashcan? Baahahaha! IS that another name for these things?

jbob, I have a set of sewerlids I'm still deciding whether to keep or not. I'll sell them for $500. They've just been refinished and have 80% tread still on the Toyo Proxies.

Haha, I figured since I'm the only one on here with a black 924S that has 928 rims. lol. But thanks.

I personally think black is the best color all of the 924/944/968 cars, it makes it look more modern, it sorta hides the 80's and 90's of the car.

I bought spacers a PepBoys for like four dollars each. They've worked great. I don't see why you should go and spend sixty dollars on spacers when PepBoys will do just fine.

great tip on the pep boys

so youre are 16x7 front and 16x8 back?

yeah, the 928 is one that looks great in any color, but 924's especially look sweet in the black. i think its having the moulding and bumpers blending in with the car

Thanks for this thread, jbob. It reminded me I have a non-running '78 928 with brand new tires and a soon-to-be-running 924S with awful tires. Looks like i'll be shopping for cheap spacers this weekend.

Yep, there 16x7 and 16x8.

At PepBoys I picked up universal spacers. Any auto parts store should have them.

Guys,

If you are looking for more of the 16X7 928S4 trash can lids I have several sets. I use the 16X8 on my race car for rain tire setup.

The 7's are not pretty but I will let them go to fellow 924 owners real cheap.

Universal spacers are not going to have a proper center bore to support your wheel and center it properly. The result can be vibration, broken studs and wheels falling off. Bad idea.

As for the flat dish wheels there are a lot of them out there in proper 944 offset. These wheels are IMO a great choice for the 924S, 944NA and 944S because they hide the not particularly good looking brakes. I have a set lying around in 16x7/8 but I do not know if the 8's work on a 924S.
