Also, I forgot...

Does anyone here know about 944S2... I was thinking of buying new injectors, I think injectors in the car are beginning to fail. If I buy new ones, how big... ? And the same flow as the original. There's no need of getting bigger injectors right? If the car has no modifacations (only K&N filter).

In 1999 I needed a set of cams (cam chain broke). I found a few used sets around the country, all were sent back due to excessive pitting. My original cams had over 100,000 miles, the lobes looked new so I had no reason to accept pitted cams.
I ended up buying new cams from Porsche, around $900 each.

Hugely expensive...

I wanted to put exhaust camshaft from an S car into my S2... deliveres a litle extra power.

But hey, I see you have supercharger kits for 928... do you have kits for 944S2?

No.

I'm on the fence about boosting my 944S. I have a feeling it's going to happen eventually

I'm building a turbo 2.5 16v right now. It's a great idea.

The engine is apart in my basement, tearing down the head for a good cleaning after a rod bearing...

I'm probably going to send out the piston / valves / heads to have all combustion parts coated by swain tech for future boost.
First step will be converting the ECU to AEM or Autronic, then boost.

You might just send the injectors to WitchHunter. They'll clean them beautifully and confirm flow (static and pulse), flow pattern, balance and check for leaks when they are done. Used to cost US$60 for all four.

www.speedforceracing.com is the website for SFR.

I've heard that www.944online.com can rebuild 944S cams that have broken sprockets. I'm sure they have a few rebuilt cams for sale.

IF you do end up investing in brand-new cams from Porsche, I would highly recommend reinforcing the tensioner on the rear side by making a mount on the #3 spark plug hole. The S and S2 weak point is that the tensioner breaks off from spark plug hole #2 and it destroys the cams and everything else!

I don't know if shipping and duties will cost too much, but maybe Sunset Imports in Oregon, USA can get you a better price?

If your going to boost it I would definitely throw on some turbo forged rods. They are cheap and it's nice security. I'm building mine with some lower compression custom wossner pistons (9.5:1) as well but if you are running real low boost or using race gas all the time the stock ones would work I suppose.

As far as EMS, I'd just get a vitesse MAF/piggyback... that's the cheapest solution anyway, and it works wonderfully.
