depending on what events you do, they may or may not let u run the harnesses.

a proper racing trackday will NOT let you run a 4pt harness w/o a cage. however, various non-racing driver ed/lapping events may be more lax. this doesn't make the setup safe though.

however, Schrothe Rallye4 harnesses are DOT approved for street use. I don't mean to sound like a schroth commercial.

I plan to get a rollbar but for now this is what I can afford. I think most of the DE events I plan to participate in will allow my setup.

Not sure what "racing trackday" refers to, but a non-racing track day (HPDE) might allow four-point belts without a cage. It depends on club/organizer rules.

I think PCA has a nationwide rule though that if you go with harnesses, you need 5 or 6 points (sub belt required) and seats designed for the full 5/6 point harness.

For "racing" door to door, I think all groups require a full cage.
