Hello from Kingman
Greetings and Salutations everyone here.
My name is Danny, and I currently reside in Kingman, AZ. I learned of this site over on 924.org. I must say I have learned a vast wealth of knowledge on this site and the org. I recently picked up a 78 924, and will be taking delivery of my $1 924S next week.
I'm working on stripping the 78 down to make it a dedicated track car. The 924S will be just a cruiser. I'm looking forward to gaining and sharing as much knowledge as possible.

You came to the right place. I just gladly renewed my membership ten minutes ago and cannot imagine not being a member. I come here all the time and find a great deal of info as well as a good laugh on often occasion. Off topic and the other boards listed to your left are all full of their own characters and good advice.
Warmest welcome.
P.S. I would be happy to give you $5 for the 924S. Coming here already made you 500% profit. LOL.

Thanks for the welcome!
I'm really green to the Porsche scene, but I am learning something new every day from experience and sites like these. One thing I have noticed (since I am a hardcore VW guy) is the crossover of VW parts I have seen in the 924 eversince I have started the teardown. I'll have to pass on the 500% profit. I haven't even seen the car in person yet.

Do you know the condition of the car in any detail?
Even if needed repairs make it uneconomical to get running again, you have a parts car... but maybe not as many parts for the 78 924 as you might imagine.
Between the 78 924 and the late 80s 924S there was quite a lot of evolution, and less VW parts/more 944 parts. In fact, the late '80s 924S is essentially a 944 without the flared guards.
But if you've been on 924.org, I guess you know all that already. Welcome!

Welcome indeed! I'm buddies with Rasta Monsta, one of the admins over there at the 924board. Between the two sites, we'll more than have you covered for tech!
Enjoy the cars! Though I must say you should track prep the 924S and come race in Spec 944! They have a great following down there. Not as much venue to race the base 924.

The other car is about 90.4% complete. The PO started doing a FI swap, so there is some loose ends to tie up there. But as far as the 78 goes I almost have it gutted for my racer project. Fiberglass all around on the exterior, a full cage interior oh yeah and a seat.
I have everything out of the interior right now. If anybody is looking for something I could start another thread to get that stuff going.

Welcome,
I am down the road a bit here in Phoenix. I am also the leader for the 944 spec group here. We do quite a bit of racing in 944 and 924S cars here. 2.0L 924 is not part of the spec class, but can still be run with us at NASA events.
Our next race is March 6,7,8 at PIR.

Thanks for the welcomes everyone.
I have noticed there are a few from the PHX area. I'll see if I can make it down to the races. That would be great to meet some people and gain some more knowledge of these cars.
