Weltmeister Chip Installation
Friend of mine just bought Weltmeister Chips from a performance site for his '87 924s. I don't like playing with other peoples car's especially if they are not mine. He got a pretty good deal on the chips so I told him to go for it. Well anyway, he just recieved them, and I told him I would ask a couple people on rennlist on the installation.
How would one go by installing it? Where is the computer for the car located? Under the dash by the fuses?
Any suggestions would be helpful.

You say chips a couple of times, you mean chip right? It should only be one EPROM.
The computer is under the steering column, held in place by 4 (?) hex head screws/bolts. Instructions should have come with the chip, if not I can scan a set and e-mail them to you Monday. Long and short:
disconnect negative terminal on battery.
unbolt computer
unplug harness from the computer
pry back tabs on the metal cover so you can remove it
(If I remember) pop a couple plastic fasteners so you can fold back the circuit board
See the stock EPROM? Remove it and replace it with the new one.
Reverse steps to get the car back on the road
Now take it for a spin and tell us honestly whether you notice a difference. (I'm not being a dick, I really want to know)
Jeez, it's past my bedtime...

God damn! I don't know, I'll see how it works out for him. I have a G-Tech Performance Meter that we usually use to get a estimation of the horsepower our cars put down. Maybee I'll upload the dyno chart off the thing.
