Post SoCal People?

This is for everyone in the Southern California:

I want to organize a get together for the mid summer right here in sunny sandiego... obviously open for all sports cars, but mainly the front engine 4cyl's that we all own and love... San Diego people please email me ( Echo9@***.net ) to give me a hand in the organization... Open to all suggestions. Please all socal people reply so I can start to get this thing off the ground... thanks for all the help guys... Hope everyone becomes as enthusiastic about this as I am... So far I am thinking a BBQ followed by a nice cruise up to julian or palomar or something.... Thanks for all the help....

Thumbs up

I would like to see more S. Calif. P-car social events!
By summer I should have my baby all tuned up and ready to roll. She's not the prettiest 944 on the road but I love her anyway.

My suggestions as far as planning it go would be to find a regional park or something with lots of picnic/BBQ areas right by a parking lot and then have the get together there. I know that at Irvine Regional Park the local audi/vw and BMW clubs did something along those lines. I went up and it was pretty cool. Only thing is it was like $4 to get intot he park.

just a thought.

There are a ton of great roads going up to Palomar mountain and Julian. It could be a fun day.

Jonas...Sounds good. Count me and my 944S2 Cab in.

Can we find a nice park and get some photos...I've always had this idea for a photo...
A generational line up. Picture a staggered line up of an early 924, 924S, Early 944 (Fuchs), Late 944, 951, S2, S2 Cab, 968 Coupe, 968 Cab.

I'll be down there for the San Diego Comicon in mid July; but SD is so close, doesn't matter. Any time after that would be great.

I think Hoffman 912 will be out this way, like Aug. 1-3, so that'd possibly be a differen Porsche!

Let me know when and where. Thanks!

damn! i might be down with that. i wanna stay a day after the 912 rendezvous (actually ends on the 3rd) to get some rest before the big haul home. so the 4th would be better (yeah like id be gettin any rest hangin out with you guys ).
its a possability. in all honesty, i was hoping to get together with a bunch of so cal rennlisters and hanging out anyways, maybe cruse the coastal highway (dont know what the real senic one is called), maybe moholland drive. hell may be we could have a border run if its gonna be in san diego! (maybe not)

that is of course if you wouldnt mind an air cooled, rear engined, 4 banger?

if you wouldnt mind more 912ers joining in some fun, there will be an estimated 100 of us gathering in solvang. maybe i can drag some of them down to where youre at the next day.

im still not sure though, as i not only need rest, but when im not resting ill be chainging oil, adjusting carbs, adjusting valves, changing plugs and points, fan belt, checking breaks, fluids, tuning, timing, adjusting this and that... you get the idea. if anything else i can always come down and say hello. lets just say theres a great possability.

how far is SD from solvang? being a stranger in a forign land... i would be worried about not knowing where the hell im going, naturally, so where ever it is the simpler, the better!
if its while im in town, lets say a very strong maybe. either way i know i will be meeting some of you while im down there regardless. (and i cant wait!)

Solvang is a good four hour trek to San Diego...I think we should do it after the 4th of July Possibly meet in North County for a central meeting point... I think all of us can caravan from the Spectrum down to SD. I think John Anderson has one of those monster BBQ pits maybe he might be willing to coordinate getting it up the hill to a camp ground at Palomar Mountain we could have a big BBQ up there? Bring your own meat type of thing. (keep your comments to yourself) I think getting 30-50 cars is doable...

I think this should be a all P-Car welcome event...

Thinking big:
If there was enough of a response we could get everyone to prepay and have one of those mobile BBQ Pit catering companies feed us...
