Default Early car with LED dash lights

I am almost done with my 83' interior and thought that I would post up these pics. I replaced my guages with some 924 ones I had, then got rid of those dome lenses and replaced them with flat ones, finally I pulled all the guage lights (except the battery one of course) and replaced the bulbs with white leds. They look almost more blue than white compared with the old bulbs, but the clarity is great and it has less power draw. What do you think?

It seems like it would look more clear in real life. I think the camera just auto focused funny, since everything else in the car looks pitch black.

Looks good!

Like I said, the difference is amazing. Your right Calmchaos, it was hard to hold my POS point and shoot while keeping still long enough for it to expose without a flash. I will try it again now that it is night out and this was shot in my garage during the day. Lorax, the cluster only shows water temp and fuel at night unless you have your brights on, the turn signal on, or an idiot light turns on.

Very nice. Where'd you source the lights and what parts were they? I'd like to do this to my dash.

Oh ok, that pic was taken in daytime.

I'm sure it's very bright at night.

Cheap LEDs are are either UV or blue with yellow phosphor.

Personally, I don't care for it. Not that it looks bad, but the bluish tinge hurts my eyes and gives me a headache after a while. And you can't dim them with a rheostat.

To eliminate the bluish colour you might try the natural or soft white type LEDs.

Also I have found that the LEDs that project a wide beam pattern tend to be better at providing more even lighting. Personally, I have had the best success with the WLED-xx5 type http://www.superbrightleds.com/specs/bulb_specs.htm#x5

Thanks guys! Just to answer a few questions.
1. The flat lens's are an easy deal. Just get some acrylic in the same thickness and a dremel side cutting bit, or a band saw and your in.
2. The bulbs are from superbrightleds.com and just replace the stock bulbs in the back of the gauges. They are the same except for the multi guage with uses a socket type (part # B8.5D I think). Total cost for the leds with shipping was under 30bucks.
3. They really don't look quite as blue in real life, the photos make them much bluer for some reason.

What part number did you use from superbrightleds.com for the main bulbs?
