944 NA engine breather/vacuum hoses
I just replaced all of the hard vacuum lines with silicon, that undoubtedly got rid of some vacuum leaks (at least one big one since the one of the outlets on the thermo valve was snapped off), so that will probably help driveability some...
I was pulling the throttle body to rebuild it and in the process, noticed that the oil breather was cracking (I don't think it's cracked through, but it's pretty cracked.) So, I removed the intake manifold/injectors to get to those hoses. I'm glad I did, because it looks like the manifold has been off, but they reused the gaskets, I probably had some big leaks there.
The question is... Have people had good luck using generic straight hose for all of the breather/vacuum lines, or do I need to spend the big bucks on the custom bent stuff? What I don't want to do is save some money (a pretty good chunk of money seeing as how the oil breather hose is $25), but have to redo this in a year...
Also, what else should I do "while I'm in there".... I'm going to order fuel injector 0-rings, intake manifold gaskets, replace all of the intake related hoses that are under the manifold. Anything else?

Where is the ISV? Is that the valve on the between the intake plenum before the throttle body and the intake manifold (It looks like an electric motor attached to an aluminum block...

that's strange... mine doesn't look like that... It's more like a hexoganal block of aluminum with a motor attached to it.. I wonder if mine is a hack or something from a different model car...

oh wait... mine looks like the one on the porsche parts catalog... so, although it may not be working... it's looks to at least be an OEM part for the car...

Early cars have a CIS type of warmup air valve under the intake and a solenoid air valve for when the AC turns on, it has the hex shape you mention and is mounted off the air filter mount.
Good idea to check the injector O-rings.
