Talking Any 944 owners in San Antonio area?

Hey All,
Just wanted to find out if there are any other 944 or 944S owners the the San Antonio/Boerne area. I'm new to Porsche maintenance and constantly in need of technical advice and would gladly give anyone a hand working on their car in exchange for a little assistance on mine. My car is an '87 944S, Guards Red that I picked up for really cheap. It runs ok and most everything works, but it's a little rough around the edges. Anyway, let me know and maybe we can meet for lunch somewhere or something.

Welcome Sharky, I am in San Antonio and have fixed a couple of things on my car. I'll be glad to help you out. My Gf's folks are in Boerne as well so we get up there a bit too.

Cheers

There is also an active PCA club here with a bunch of 944 Owners. Check out www.longhornpca.org The Autocross was last weekend but there are others coming up soon.

OZ951,
I really appreciate the offer, but one small problem-I'm not 21, but if you've got another place in mind that is minor-friendly let me know.

Hi Sharky,
I'm in Katy (West side of Houston), but have property in-between Houston and San Antonio, so I get over to SA often. We have quite a few Houston rennlisters and we try to get together every couple of months. If you're up for the drive perhaps you, and OZ951 as well, can join us. Or, come up with a "call to arms" and we'll all buzz over to SA.

Later,

I live in Austin now (hook 'em horns), but I do make it down to San Antonio quite a bit. A friend of mine in SA does lots of work on P-cars, and is always looking for help around his shop. If you're interested, we could all meet up at his shop sometime. I'm sure you know him OZ, James with the wild red 911 SC(Don't want to throw his name out on the net)? But shark, he is the tech guy for 944's for Pelican, he is a great guy and knows a lot.

Yes I know James -spoke to him last night actually, and he has tried to convince me to make my car into a race car - as he does

I discussed many aspects of my rebuild with him and I ended up porting and polishing my head at his shop

BBQ is always a good "ice breaker". Would love a good excuse to motor on over to SA.

OH! So you're his 944 Turbo friend! I have the grey 944S you probably saw in his shop. I would love to see your car, looks too sweet in the pictures. My brother and I may be by the shop this saturday, if James is in town of course.
