i think they look good. just make sure you have the proper measurements. im trying to fit d90s on my 86 944, it looks good, but im just afraid of rubbing, so ima do more testing.
I accidentally bought early offset 16" phonies and when I put them on they rubbed in the back bigtime. It wasn't even close to fitting. I wouldn't go there.
D90's should fit on your 86. I had them on my 85.5, but with spacers.
do you happen to remember the measurements on your spacers if you dont mind me asking?? im afraid to get a wrong measurement and they will stick out too much. i just want them to fill the fender a little bit more than my 15 in fuchs

Well most early cars are ET 23, and late cars are ET 50/60 something...so you'll need 25-30mm spacers (rought math..you'll need to know widths to make a definite decision)
