My '84 had those from the factory in 15". They were painted (or powdercoated, not sure) black in the center, but it was anodized gold under the black. There was an option code for wheels, but I forgot specifically what it was.

Here's a pic of my old wheels on Scott Harvey's car at 944 fest this past summer:

Two pages and no pimp daddy gold BBS pics? How can this be?

Here's mine with 16" 3-piece BBS RS's. This pic was taken not too long after I brought it home, I've collected all the trim pieces since then so they make a nice, if questionably tasteful, set.

Broken RF control arm while going 60 on a left hand curve. Rolled a couple of times, 12 stitches.... not a single good panel left on it.
