Post My 944 is going back together!(now a pic or two)

Well, she's well on the way with alot of the smaller detail parts in the engine bay, heater box and rear lights. I plan to cover alot of ground in the next week or so. I'm off worksat, mon, tues and thurs. I work sun and wed 9-5. Any local guys welcome to drop by and check the project if you'd like. You may want to call ahead to make sure I'm in the garage and get directions. Home 513-729-2283 or Cell 513-203-2410 ask for Andy, I'll try to keep the cordless handy. Update, I now have a nice new hole in my left ring finger due to a screwdriver(better my finger than the paint)and the engine bay is about ready for the 951 motor. Not too sure about clearances with the wastegate, may require brute motivation, no biggie. The engine may go in sat(tomorrow)I don't want to rush it, but I'm still not seeing any hold-ups or reasons why I can't. Still no interior and need to clean and detail the rear suspension. I need to put the clutch and flywheel on the engine still, also need to figure out what headliner I am doing before the interior goes in too. I'm thinking black or dark grey sued leather like the new 996TT. Hmmm, back to work. lol

BTW, only the car is painted, I still need to do the nose and all the bolt on parts for the body. Those can wait, I got plenty of work on the engine install and interior too. I got the all red lights in the back, one of the first things in, and they look great!

I can't wait to see the finished product. Too bad I am too far away to check it out. I'm sure that you had a lot more fun building this project than you would have had if you had just bought a 951.

Definately fun! I gotta take the flywheel to be turned in the morning, after that, the engine is on it's way in. I'm pretty confident that I have everything that is needed in the engine bay that needs to be in before the motor goes in. I'm waiting on the weather right now, it decided to rain on me for a bit and I'm working outside. The garage is full of Porsche stuff laid out for install. lol, right now my garage looks like the pic of what it takes to turbo a Porsche. Oh, BTW, my cell phone is out of minutes for a little bit, I'm going to get more tonite. If the rain stops, I'll be a little closer, if not I'll spend the time digging for more parts that I need. I have 2 944s in boxes plus a 951 motor and equipment. Sometimes it takes a while to find things. Man, I'm having a blast, it's been a while since I've been able to dig into a car like this. It's been bodywork and tedious engine regasketing for the last year. Now I'm finnaly able to make it look like a car again! Thanks for the kind words guys, I guess I'll have to do a world tour when she's done, I plan for a few road trips next year when all bugs are out and she's gotten a good shakedown. This year will be nice local cruising and seeing what mods are due this winter. I'm sure that I'll feel the need to mod.

Well, it's about 12:30 and I about to get evrything layed out and prep the bellhousing with all the new parts, I got some stuff(small detail to be dealt with later)that I need like another braided SS hose. If the weather holds I may get the rear suspension done tonite. Wish me luck, it's back to the monser garage for me!

Got the flywheel turned, looks great, also went to a local speed shop to get my braided SS hose. The weather seems to be cooperating, I'll try to drop the motor today. Wish me luck!
