I got a few others, they were too big, I'll be getting more back from developing too. I can play with them more, I'll try to get them up in the next few days. Oh well, back to the garage for more fun. Hopefully I can finish the suspension tonite and move back to the front of the car. I need to build some duct work for the Fiberwerks nose and intercooler.

lol, yeah, we all gotta do some adjusting. I got the suspension done with the exception of the halfshafts, trans cooler, and rear shocks. I wanted to get my nose home tonite, got my wheels home instead, I make get the tires on them tomorrow. Glad to get rid of the nasty phones on the front and just as bad 993 wheels on the back. I like both style wheels, but mine are really nasty from body work, a year of it and four paint jobs(long story). Damn this thing gets prettier by the day!

Ok, update, not much done today, I had to fight the shocks. The lower eye hole on the shock was too small for the bolt and had to press the bushings out, find some to fit and press them back it. Also had to help some buddies with some stuff too. I don't know what I'm doing this weekend, I may be going to get a 944 with my buddie. If not, I should have the axles and cooler in on sat and sun, well, I dunno. Plenty to do still, just not sure what to dig into?

Car is looking great, I got to see the pic you posted.

You know I am doing the same thing to one of my cars.

I am doijng a turbo conversion on one car, and swaping a 951 into the other.

84 turbo conversion
85 (early) 951 conversion

I sawa some of the other swaps that people have done. So I am rebuilding the 951 Motor as I have time and When I have it done and can drive it I will convert the other one.

I am going to use a NA heaad with stainless steel valves on the conversion, with boored out exhaust, cause I havent come across a cheap turbo head and pistons.

I am thinking of having a set up pistons ground out like the Callaway pistons to drop the compression, that plus a turbo head would work wonders. I am so busy with work and everything else I havent worked out the details.

I wish you the best with your project.

ehhh i dunno man, i'm trying to get the turbo on tonight and i got the short bolt but the long one doesn't fit because of the part of the steering rack that attaches to the shaft...there is no room.. and also i'm not liking the room in there, i dunno if the cross over pipe will fit.....i really hope i'm wrong man.

i'm off to undo the motor mount and lift the side of the engine so i can get the turbo bolted down, after that its onto the intake and then if i decide to pull a 5 am'er again i might get to the exhaust.

any words of wisdom?or encouragement?...looking for anythign at all man

Wow sound like a wicked problem.

Andre, you doing a swap right?

Hemm I was under the impression it should fit.

All I can say is take a look at the service manual and the specs... should match up and fit.

I know quite a few poeple have pulled it off. I havent even got my 951 motor completly torn down yet, its just sitting onthe stand...

I wish you the best

hey savage, the engine bay is big enough, its the same BODY, but the thing is the 951 has bigger control arms. I only thought of this now, and i'm worried that the cross member might sit further up, and that the steering shaft is different.

Hey nine-44 dude tell me you used all the 944 stuff as in the cross member and steering rack and the control arms and stuff and that the cross over pipe fit

please?

well, i helped put the motor in, yes, the suspension is the same. We installed the motor w/ the suspension from the 88 944 n/a bolted to the bottom. The turbo was already on, i imagine that the turbo would suck to install w/ the motor in.

It will all fit in the later cars, 85.5 and up. I wish I knew on the early cars? Yes, everything is *** tight in there, same as the 951. The crossover will fit, I wrapped mise over the stock sheilding and it lightly touches the oil pan. It still fit's tho, I had prertty much everything on the motor when I put it in from the bottom. I hope you read thi soon, you could probably pull the rack on one side to gain enough room for the turbo bolt, it's worth a try.

BTW, as far as the cromember, A-arms. steering shaft. they are all NA part on mine, you have to pull the bolts on the shaft side(if the rack is in) to get the splines to line up right. It will go, justwiggle it a little and it'll slide in. Good luck, as alway, any questions are welcome via post, Email, PM or AIM

Oh, I guess I owe an update too? The drive trane is done with the exception of the fuel rail and some wiring and oil cooler lines. I nicked my radiator, well see if it holds, luckily, I didn't get the new one yet! I got the carpet in too. I hope to get my black 17" twists on tomorrow too. Plenty to do and broke, guess I'm dead in the water for right now.

got the intake manifold on, exhaust tonight i guess, i'm still praying, i hope i dont have to take the steerign shaft off again(meaning lowering the crossmember...)

Well, I ran some amp wiring and made my braided S fuel lines too. Got the adjustable FPR on too, I don't have the rail on yet, I need to get the injector seal kit still. Hope to get my 17s on tonite too, well, if the rain holds.
