Post little water in the oil

I have an ISSUE with my 924-S. I discovered a loss of coolant. I had some dye put in the coolant, and found indication in the oil. No chocolate milkshake though. No indication of foaming or anything on the dipstick.

OK, so, head gasket or cooler. I pulled the head and had it rebuilt and planned. Put it all back together with some cheap oil to flush out the old stuff. So, today I changed to some good dyno stuff. When I openrd the fill tube, I discovered some foam looking crap on the inside. I haven't noticed any loss of coolant this time.

There is no indication of oil in the coolant. Having had a failed oil cooler gasket about 130,000 miles ago, I know what that looks like.

The only thing I could suspect at this time is possible a cracked head.

Anybody else have any wild a__ guesses? It runs just fine.

Did you replace the oil cooler seals at the same time you did the head? If not, my bets are there.

Well, that may be what I try next. The oil pressure is generally higher than the water pressure, and that is why the leaks go the other way.

To my knowledge, there is no other place that it could happen. Right?

If you are not lossing coolant maybe it is condensation???? Is the car a daily driver and when you run it do you make sure it is run at operating temperature for a while?

Good Point TAZZ. I have moved closer to work. Takes about 12 minutes verses an hour as before. That was how I ran up those 216,000 miles.

I haven't doen any real driving in the thing for a while. Think I'll keep on, and keep a careful eye on the coolant level.

I appreciate the responses. This has me scratching my head.

Condensation or residue in the engine could cause that if you have no coolant loss. After the next oil change if you see it again then you probably have problems with the head or block (lets hope that is not the case). Good luck.

If it is light and foamy, and not a lot of it, it is condensation. Take her out for about an hour, have a little fun. Come back and check and it should be gone, for the most part.

If you change the oil and see some milkshake, I'd keep my eye on it until it warms up outside. Spring temps should not cause any condensation.
