Hey, don't laugh. He's a smart man, who's trying to help YOU by manually upping the market value.

If we all start selling our cars like that we can make quite a profit.

haha, 37,000 miles thats unheard of. You can tell the low mileage from the interior. I better jump on this one before it's gone.

Or we can get a decent car while they can be had to robbery prices, work on them to make/keep them nice, and wait until all the kids with one thin the heard to the point that the car is actually collectible and a POS in a field like this one realy is worth 5K.

Roughly the same amount I bought my 951 for over Christmas, not that I am comparing a 1987 951 to a 1966 GTO, but the condition is not too far from that of the craigslist 944 above...I mean the GTO has the wheels mounted at least....

That's just smart weight reduction, the engine has to weigh quite a bit!

good point John. Yeah I'm pretty sure the wheels are stored in a heated facility, priceless antique phone dials with original rubber.

hmmm..I probably have enough 66-67 GTO parts in my basement and garage to get a good jump on that resto....lol

I love when people dissasemble cars and leave the parts sitting in the mud for a decade, with HOPES of restoring them....

Fade in....August 1973, My father in law and his best friend at a Pontiac dealership is the scene...They both fill out factory order sheets for 1974 Pontiac Trans Am, 455, TH400, 383 gearset... One Red, One White, both with hood birds...

...Now it is 1982, Both cars are parked due to rising gas prices and both men getting married (FIL parks both cars side by side in his driveway, covers them with tarps.....

...2001 I return White (now silver) car to running order, and sell for 8x my investment... January 2009 Red car still sitting under its tarp, continuing to rot away, having not moved in well over 10 years, carburetor having been removed some time back in the late 90s...

It is a sad day when a truly classic, iconic car is allowed to rot away to nothing..

Some people need not have access to www.kbb.com or www.nadaguides.com

Nada guides list 1984 944 as Low Value of $5425, so in reality his asking price of $5000 isn't off, except for the real market price is not NADA...

They probably removed the wheels and tires to prevent the squirrels from driving off with the car when they weren't watching....
