Your daily driver is the Odyssey, not the 951, right??

Anyway, don't worry about the car, that can be replaced ... Glad you're ok!!

Wow, glad to hear everyone is OK! Scary...

For those of you wanting auto crash pics, have you seen The Massachusetts Road-Kill Pages ?

(ELLSSUU, wait a while before checking this one out, not gross or anything, but still...)

Car was my 1995 Nissan Altima. Was in perfect shape and overall I believe that it took the crash(s) very well.

Just came back from the body shop and the guy there told me to get EVERYTHING out of it. He hasn't written it up yet but he knows that it's totaled.

State Police found me at fault (obvious) but also said that there was no way I was going to avoid that accident and thus did not write me a ticket. Funny thing, well maybe not, is that they closed the roadway right after I crashed. If they would have only done that 30 seconds before I wouldn't be frowning right now.

Thanks for your support everyone!

Won't go anywhere without a seatbelt on. Bad accident in my past. Don't trust air bags either. Damn, Scott. Glad you're ok.

It's the insomnia and nightmares afterwards that take forever to go away. (How do I know?)
"If only I'd left two minutes later - or earlier - or gone another route - or - or - what if someone had been killed"
Anyone having a life-threatening accident has all these thoughts and more.
It has been said that most accidents happen within 20 miles of home. DO always wear a belt - even for just a 100 yard journey.
My sympathies.

Scott, Too late about towing it over and surprising me, I've just read the thread.

Man, while it was loading, I was like "uhhh, nah, it's just like Scott to title a thread that way and then proceed to tell us how he 'totally' detailed his car or errr, wait a minute, he said 'MY CAR' and nothing about it being the Nissan or Honda"

I was freakin' until the page loaded......

PHEEEEEEW......!

Now that the worrying is over, you can turn religious now and give away all of your possessions in thanks.....
I'll take the '51 .....

OK so look, seriously, if you're shook up a bit we can cancel if you want, I'll be there regardless so no sweat.

Look at the bright side, the wife's got a van right....., so the search is on for an NA 'daily driver right...?

See ya tomorrow........or not....

Wow buddy, sorry about that!!

You know, it would be worth looking into whether or not they are closing that road to repair the pothole you hit...

Because the city/state could be at fault, and not you. They are required to keep the roads in relatively safe shape, IIRC, and have insurance for damages that occur as a result of damage on the roadway.

Would be worth checking into at least.

Again, glad you are alive and OK!!

Good thinking Matt.
Some of the local authorities in the UK actually spend more on claims than they do on road maintenance.

Matt You have a legitimate point there.
Around here people regularly make claims about bent wheels, alignments, etc. due to road conditions being sub-par.

South Louisiana is big on Sugar cane farming.
They tow loads of cane larger than what the law regularly allows to 18-wheelers so they tear the road up pretty well, track mud onto highways...etc.

I once stopped and took a picture on my fav curvy road at tons of mud tracked out of a cane feild onto the highway with an 'UNLAWFUL TO TRACK MUD ONTO HIGHWAY' sign in the foreground....
If an unsuspecting 'sporting' motorist were to happen upon one of these messes around a blind turn it'd be 'lights out' for sure.....

Scott, that is soo scary! I'm glad you are alright, and thank God the car did it's last job in this life: protect your life!

I am wondering, though: the Troopers found you at fault, yet they closed the road...makes me wonder if you really are liable at all. Something to talk over with a lawyer for some advice. Just would hate to see your rates go up over a road hazard.

Wait - that WAS a road hazard! Makes me go hmmm.

Sorry I haven't gotten back to you concerning the seats, just been busy on the comic book.

- Julie
