Default Is there a way to turn off CASIS?

I searched but got lots of hits on just explanations of the system. Would swapping out clusters be the only way? It looks like it's an LED light.. but I haven't pulled out the cluster to confirm that.

If CASIS is the shift light, why not just pull the bulb?

It's kind of neat at first but becomes pretty useless after you get used to the car.

I always find it to be helpful when I want to get the best economy possible. But yeah, just pull out the bulb at the back of the cluster if you want to disable it

--I barely notice it anymore. Unless I zone out and forget to shift into 5th, then it's kind of handy.

Either disassemble the tach, or put a little black paint or black tape over the light. Or like me, convince yourself that you actually like it. Hey, if you obey it, you will conserve fuel!

I guess knfeparty had the acronym right.

Sometimes I miss it in the S2, but I tend to shift by ear and it's taking getting used to. I think I need to be in 4th because the exhaust is louder, then I have next to no power...

it should be entirely disabled (according to the factory manual) in 5th because it is an upshift light for economy...obviously this is not possible...

just turn off the light..

Ignore the "R" on your shifter, that's 6th gear, go for it!
