Well you could replace the windshield and hatch with lexan..I think it would be alot more work than the end result would be worth...

I would love to see the end result of that!

The next question would be how wide to go?
Maybe go for the record 87"

You would need to build a front tubular frame to make it fit which has been done for a chevy twin turbo set-up in a 944.
Have you seen this done? I've been thinking about it myself but have not seen one.

get 2 944 bodies...

cut one into three pieces, with the cut stopping just before the tunnel.

cut the other similarly, but cut maybe 4 inches to each side of the tunnel.

put the wide tunnel piece between the two wider floorpans.

weld.

FWIW, according to Excellence Was Expected, Porsche considered making the 928 V8 into a V6 for the 944 series instead of an inline 4. They concluded that it was not feasible to reconfigure the 924 chassis to accept it.

Cant find a pic of the Chevy TT one but heres a factory GTP 944 that has it done.

Cant post a pic for some reason so follow this link and go down to "porsche powered vehicles" then "How'd you like this engine in your car? Porsche 944 Turbo GT motor!"

Have you seen the price of a 928?
