I've been looking at several cars recently and trying to get a handle on what real values are for these cars.
Any perspective on the following cars?
88 944 Turbo S (Guards Red - 15k miles)
88 Turbo S (Silver Rose Edition - 55k miles)
86 944 Turbo (Maroon - 127k miles)
I don't have any of the Excellence magazine tables or other sources other than Kelly Blue Book or Edmunds which I don't have a lot of faith in.
Thanks much.

Nice set of cars you have there....
anyway, I know this is not what you are looking for but with 951's they are worth what the buyer is willing to pay. They are not that common, but common enough that you can always find another one.
I have found, the best approach is to set your standards for the car, and figure out what you are going to use it for and then go from there.
But I'll give a shot at the cars you have there with out any other info on them (history, records, how they were used is imporant to this).
88 Turbo S = 14-19k (low low miles make the price go up, but not always a good thing)
89 Turbo = 12-18k (a good number of miles and I would assume its in great shape)
86 Turbo = 5-9k (depends on a lot of things, what has been replaced, when it was done, and the condition of the car)

I agree with Ian that low miles are not always a good thing. More important that the milage is the maintenance performed. When (if) the clutch was changed, belts, water pump, front end seal, etc. I'd rather buy a high milage car with a maint. history than a low miles example without them.
Now to answer your question, 1988 turboS (Guards Red): ~$15k+ WITH history. It's rare and the low milage combine for the premium price.
1988 tuboS (Silver Rose): ~$11-14k depending on condition and history.
1986: $8-10k; again dependent on condition and history.
The most important consideration is the intended use of the car. Will it remain a stock street car, modified street with occasional track, or track only.
The tubo S exaples are prime candidates for street only applications (their value will increase if kept stock) while the 86 would make a better modified car of track car. It is less expensive to begin with leavin more funds for suspension and engine work. Plus it's easier to justify modifying the 86 than the more rare turbo S models.
Happy hunting...

I have found that prices vary alot depending on geography... I think both of the comments above are a bit low in larger metropolitan areas. If you can get the 951 S with the low miles for under $15, snag it. Around here, it would go closer to 18-20K. Silver rose will probably go for about $15K. I noticed that people who know they have Ss maintained the cars better than non Ss... just my observation. Mileage is merely one indicator of conditions. Obviously, go for the lower mileage if condition is similar. Higher miles non Ss are lot easier to come by esp. 86 models and prices vary alot........

Around here the '88 turbo S with 15k miles would go for ~$20k...if not more.
The 88 turbo S with 65k miles probably around $15k if not more, possibly less.
And 86 turbo, largely depends on condition (as do the others), but I'd say $6-10k isn't far fetched.
