Post suspension option?

another question about an '89 normally aspirated 944 i drove this week.

the guy told me the car had some sort of "special suspension" and the wheels are the 16x7 and 8 flat forged wheels identical to the 928 wheels. unfortunately i could not check the options because the rear hatch would not open. I am thinking this may be an optional sport suspension set up but i do not know for sure. anybody have any ideas?

thanks,
