Default Brake upgrade... 944 NA w/o M030 to 987 Calipers?

I know that i will need to switch from the radial mount, which i have taken care of... so other than proper spacing and such... what modifications will have to be made?

This is quite easy one to accomplish. If you have a '89, so it's a new ET car. Most likely you can use directly either 951 or 951 S rotor. Both of these will accept 996 Carrera or Boxter monoblocks with suitable adapter which your local machine shop can make for you quite cheaply.

working with a 987 non-monoblock caliper... so that will likely make it more difficult but I am up for the challenge.

What makes it more difficult?

not sure yet... your post said a monoblock caliper woudl bolt right up with the correct adaptor... i was figuring that a later caliper would be more difficult.

what about cars with early offset hubs? I believe that the brake caliper mounting would be the same, but what about rotors?

Early offset is more demanding because of the rotor. You must locate somewhere a floating type of rotor and have to fabricate a special hat for it with the right offset.

Correct. If anyone with an early car is going this route, do a quick google search for Coleman Rotors. That's where my custom 2-piece rotors came from for my early offset car that has 951S/928S4 calipers on it. They do very nice work.
