Default Recently i got the most Oldschool 924 ever!!! Story and Pic's inside

On a beautiful day in 1980, this car rolls out of the Porsche factory Neckarsulm in Germany. That year was 12.794 unit build of Porsche 924.
The color is not most popular but very special. Lower color is Onyx green metallic and on top is it Reseda Green Metallic. Think I have the name of the color right. I have not seen many cars in both these colors. That must have been special order.
The engine is 1984 c.c. and makes 125 hp/ 5800 rpm. The compression is 9,3/. Eight valves do the job and the single camshaft is on the top. The transmission is 5 speeds.
Special order with the car was the electronic heated and controlled flag mirror and on right side also. Mirror on right side was not standard in 1980. It have brown leather interior, Sunroof, Turbo sills cover and rear window wiper.
From 1980 to 1986 it was in Hamburg in Germany but was imported to Iceland in August 29 1986. That owner has it for nearly a year. On June 13 1987 my uncle Hinrik bought it. And now the story gets very cool. Hinrik was getting divorce and could not put it to his name, so he put the car on his best friend. But he did not know that his friend was almost bankrupt. So few weeks later some layers were looking for the car, so he took the car and hide it in 3 floor in his father factory. There it was under a cover for 18 years
There I saw it first, my other uncle showed it to me. And I thought it wasn’t the prettiest thing ever!
Now the time move, in 1991 it was registered lost, and stills the time move. In 2004 my uncle Hinrik died. I ask his son Helgi to sell it to me; I would buy it and give it to my other uncle for his 40 year birthday. But he would not sell the car and he manages to put it on the road in Mars 2005.
Now 3 years later I find the car outside his house with flat tire and not on his best.
I talk to him and he told me that he only have driven it 300 km. And something was wrong with the engine. And now he decided to sell me the car.
This is the photo of the car the night I brought it to my garage.
3 weeks later, and many parts later. We change head gasket, valve guide, waterpump, spark plug, ignition coil, new spring in front, door handle, speed cabel, and much more. It got full check from the government and now it is finally street legal again.
This will be used on special days only.

This is how i got it! brown leather interior and a old school sterio system

And this is how it looks now

The car is now in storage for the winter

It's so retro driving this car

I never noticed the shape of the wheel arches on the 924. Sort of squared off a bit at the top. Very cool looking.
Great story, great car.

Yeah, I think American 924s are pretty ugly, but i love everything about the European versions... well everything except that steering wheel. But i don't like the new style Porsche steering wheels either.
Did it come stock with that spoiler?

when it first got to iceland it got a Zender rear spoiler,,,, That's ugly as hell,,, The owner before me had a shop take it off,,,, When i got it there was no spoiler and i owned a hatch from a 944 turbo!

I know it's not orginal and a little bit bigger then the 24 spoiler but it looks so good so i forgive it
