Post Odometer trouble

My odometer doesn't work but the speedometer does. I've already replaced the little gear and everything else looked good as far as gears go. What should I do now?? Anybody with ideas?

Mine's doing the same thing, so I'm just getting a different one. Although early and late odo's are different, your problem might be the metal gear not turning when it should. Not sure if you even have a metal gear though, it's right next to the number gears if you do.

I don't recall seeing any metal gears in there. Could it be electrical?

I sent my 944S2 cluster to north hollywood speedometer, they seemed to do a good job for a reasonable price. Other than them, it's hard to find a place to work on VDO. My neighbor works on aeronautical instruments, I should have taken it to him!

Jim,
What was the turn around time when you sent it? I looked into North hollywood before I learned about the gear thing, but If I remember it was several hundred dollars.
