Arrow Beaumont Update

Hey everybody. Well, the parts came in today (dual fans and alternator). So just waiting for the mech to show up later, and I'll be back on the road (hopefully) tomorrow.

He's great....drives about an hour each way, brings what he needs with him (is ASE certified master mech and master diesel), and charges $25/hour! Had my current aux fans blowing inside of 2 minutes. Even discovered that the fans were actually blowing in reverse!

His dad is picking up the VW diesel truck, and taking it back to replace the head, and install the new interior I got for it (updating things and changing colors).

After he gets the AC going (the conversion was botched, has to actually make a part to be able to put in the 124), then the stereo, and I'll be all set!

Hopefully the comp we use for scanning will be fixed sometime soon (Pete diagnosed it for me), so I can add some pics!

BTW
I just did my 1500 mile retensioning at 2200 miles. They were quite loose. Doing belts is no fun without a tool passer.

A mechanic that makes house calls for $25/hr. How did you find him?

Hey....we finally got a drop light, and as soon as I can get either the Benz or this car, I'm heading over to pick up a rolling jack, and more tools.

When the odometer is fixed, and/or I can judge about 1500, I'll be giving you a call. YOU DA MAN when it comes to those belts!

Let me know when you're back in town.

Which, needed LOTS of work. So much so, that when I put it in gear, it died.

This mech (Clayton) just happened to be on his way home from work, and stopped to help. Even said he could get the part, and fix it for us right there on the spot!

With all the cars we've got "in surgery", I took his number fast.

He was here at the house the other night, for 3 hours, plus it's an hour drive each way, and he only charged $75.

That's the story <img border="0" alt="[thumbsup]" title="" src="graemlins/bigok.gif" />

Boy, you better find out what he drinks and give him a bottle or case of beer everytime he comes over to your place and keep him happy. He is a great find.
