Default Got rid of my rear seats.

So... what to do now?
I was thinking about making a sub box... even though I don't really want them.
Also thinking about just putting some carpeting in there.

Only thing is, how would I put carpeting into that area and make it look good?
Is there a way to mold carpet so it fits?

If I went with the sub box idea, do you think it would work well? I was thinking of 2 subs and an amp in the middle.

Any suggestions appreciated!

I like the subs Idea even though I'm not a big subs fan.

I don't like the idea of a sub box, but then agian i'm not big into huge stereo's in my cars. I like the carpet idea. What you could do is pull the material off of your rear seat, and you'll be left with some carboard molding of the rear seats. Cover that in carpet and put it in your car, it would look GT3 RS and stuff.

speakerbox carpetting is made so you can permanently stretch it out, for pulling it over corners or whatever, so you would be able to line the bare metal surfaces fairly neatly. I saw someone on RL do this and it came out very well.

Personally I think the best use of the space is either cargo cubbies or a parcel shelf.

Speakerbox carpeting sounds like the best bet. I don't really want to spend money or the time on the sound system.
I'll try to see if I can cover the seat molding.

Thanks for the help!

If its a street car, you probably want to put a layer of sound damping under the carpet (eg don't do just carpet). Otherwise, you'll probably get a ton of road/gear noise in the cabin.

is there a way of keeping the rear luggage cover even without the rear seats?

I'd love to get rid of the rear seats but I like to keep the rear luggage area covered.

No idea what this would cost to ship, or if someone in the US makes these, but it looks really nice!

The later cars (at least mine) Came with a luggage cover that attaced to the C pillar with little connectors. It wasn't fancy like the ones that roll up into themselves, but it was nice. Covered the seats and the rear cargo area. Maybe you could find one? They will still work fine without rear seats. I'll try to find a picture of mine.

Yes there is by stripping the lower seat and folding section. I did that for out-of-sight storage and amp mounting. I've put the cargo cover back on the seat back since the photo.

Steve, I've seen that before but every time I see it I'm impressed and want!

Darwin, I'd love to see a pic of the cover you speak of. The 968 cargo cover is like a sheet or blanket that hangs from the C pillars and the hatch with bungee cord.

Damn, that's nice, but it would be really expensive for those of us here in the US (around $430 plus shipping). I'd like to get something like that with no carpet on it so I could cover it with Feintuft.

The only thing that sucks about the D9 rear seat delete is that it only comes in black! I guess that isn't so bad if your car has black interior...but mine doesn't!

Hey Arash, sounds like ours are the same. I'll have to take a picture and post it here.
