The Porsche Models, Dimensions and Tolerances manual lists engine oil volume for Mod. '85/2 - '87 at "approx. 6.0 liters" (p.85)

i would say about six or seven cases with the seat folded down, probably more if we take the containers out of the cases.

Wink

.. I get get way more than that in mine. Just pour it through the windows. After the car gets too full be sure to put the windows up tightly and then top off through the sunroof. Be sure to shake the car back and forth to remove any air that may get trapped under the seat or in the rear compartment. Keep in mind any oil with amonia may destroy your window tinting.
Doing this also help lubricate the shifter lever and extends it's life.

Enjoy

Just as a reminder, if you drive in even remotely aggressive manner it would be a great idea to keep the oil level up to the max mark pretty much all the time. I try to check it at least once a week, doesn't take too much time but gives a great peace of mind

Was a dam good thing I did have a new 5qt Mobil1 container when the oil pan gasket went. I dropped 3 qts in about 10 miles...

BTW- 5QT jug of Mobil1 has been <$19 at Wal-Mart recently. Stock up.

I just did a change on mine & it took 5.5 quarts. It's only about 1/2 way up on the dipstick, so I may add a bit more.

Either way I think you've gotten the point by now....have 7 quarts on hand as answers vary from 5 to 6.5. All depends on the size of your oil filter, turbo's take more, oil coolers take more, and how much you drained out when you changed it.
