Waiting to use my Pirelli Snowsports this year...

Even in just the cold, the difference in Grip is amazing.

PS Damon... unless you have 19's on a 997, then you are SOL.. Tell them to friggen make more tires!! Always the same every year, never enough. :/

Welcome to the club. We put winters on all of our cars. Even my 2008 Subie (w/AWD and traction management). They just make that much of a difference on everything.

Plus, it's an excuse to buy really cool lower profile wheels / tires for summer.

Snow + all seasons = minor fender bender in 1991.... Ever since have put snows on my cars for the winter. Have had awesome success with Dunlop Graspics - great traction and I am on my 3rd winter with them. That being said I want to try Nokian tires as many swear by them..

http://www.greendiamondtire.com/

Each Green Diamond Tire is an ingenious and technologically sophisticated remolded tire with thousands of diamond-hard silicium carbide granules embedded evenly throughout the tire's tread.

Had snow tires on my 951 last winter, i passed quite a few cars on my way home during a blizzard, they must have thought i was nuts.

well, it only snows a couple times a year here so I just drive on my all season (toyo proxes tpts) and I just drive slow and careful and I've been fine.

my city is completely flat though. If I have to drive to my university which is up in the mountains and there is snowfall I won't drive my 944 with all seasons. I once got stuck half way up a hill and it wasn't fun, also sliding sideways down a hill into a ditch isn't fun either.

last year when I was going up a snowy hill in my 944 (with all seasons) I saw a bunch of suvs and cars in ditchs.

I think the main thing is driving carefully even if you have snows.

we have snow in the forcast for tonight and it snowed a little this week.

The residential roads here are all icey I was having some fun spinning my tires and sliding down the empty residential roads here until I start to go sideways way too fast and got scared lol.

I will eventually pick up some cheap phonedials and put on some snow tires.

There has been a alot of icyness here in CT, I live in an area that barely gets touched after a storm. I have summer tires in the front, and all seasons in the back of the 944. I must say, even in a little bit of snow the car is still very easy to manage. Whenever it snows/ rains now, I get excited to take out the 944, I forgot how much fun and easily you can manage it sideways . The M3 is getting jealous...

+1 on the Dunlop WinterSport's! I just drove my 951 the very first time in ice/snow yesterday- no problem at all, it was pretty damn fun! I've used the wintersports in the past, great in snow/rain/dry!

I would also like to add to the "Snow Tires Are Awsome!!" list...

It wasn't too bad, but then it started to white out and get crazy today. These cars do well, but not once it gets deep. They become snow shovels fast.

Hopefully next year worldwide supply is better. We bought all they would give us this year, but these have always been tough cars to fit from a product availabilty standpoint.
