Any help I can get would be greatly appreciated. I do all of the maint my self, and thus do not have receipts. I'm not expecting to be able to go out and get a 89 turbo S or anything, but a similar 85.5 - 87 n/a is what I'm hoping for.

Do you have the receipts from your purchases of parts? Those will be useful to you. You can show those to insurance.

Are you a PCA member? Fill out the valuation form on their website and fax it in.

Not a PCA member. They are very close to being where I need the to be (farmers) if anyone has a blank valuation sheet that could be e-mailed or pm'd to me I'd appreciate it. Or any examples of spreadsheets used in other claims. Thank you all in advance.

kevin, i will get it to you tonight. in the meantime, pull as many comparable ads as you can find. insurance companies have to go by asking price. find cars like yours with asking prices where you want to be. then get info on those cars, ask the seller about condition etc. i told people why i was calling and got real good answers.

then input that information into the spreadsheet i will send you tonight. then you have a value for your car. the spreadsheet looks like a typical real estate appraisal.

Kevin,

Happen to be in front of the April '08 copy of Excellence.

1986 944:

so-so: 5494
good: 6247
excellent: 8363

If you need a photocopy of it I can do it and e-mail/fax it to you.

I just had an 85.5 NA totaled by the insurance company - which was fine with me. Damage to the fender, hood, nose panel, head light etc.

They valued it at about $4.5k - which sounded about right to me given the condition of the car and the mileage - 144k Hope this helps.

In the interests of disclosure, I got $6000 for an 85/1 944 that was totaled. LOW miles, though.
