Post What can I do with $500?

Well.. my xmas break is coming up and as much as I shouldn't, I'll probably spend more on the Porsche than I will on anyone else. I still need to save money for others, but I should be able to spare $500.

What can I get?
I want to do the suspension as a complete job, so that I'm saving for the summer. Also, I'm planning to go with Danno's 364 kit once it becomes availible.

I am planning on replacing the head gasket when I am at home, but I don't think that will cost much (just the price of a new gasket...)

If you're motor mounts are worn, replace them

send it to me. I will do one of two things with the money.

1. put it into the inevitable maintenance of my 944.

2. put it into a trust fund for my daughters college, as soon as she is born, which will enable me to spend $500 on the inevitable maintenance of my 944 without putting $500 into a trust fund.....

Send me an e mail, and I will give you my address.

Or,
You can put it into the inevitable maintenance of your 944.

if your going the 364 route you'll want to go w/ a WFHG and replace the head studs w/ raceware/arp studs. the other gaskets, timing belt and waterpump will put you over the 500 thats burning in your pocket.

Well I don't need to do the head this winter.. I can get away with changing out the coolant(The stuff the PO had used is "thinner" than the green stuff, so it won't leak with the green stuff), the belts are good for another 10k miles.

Maybe I'll just hold on to my money and spend the time detailing everything.

Id get a tial wastegate w/ adapters from SFR
400 bucks..then a manual boost controller.
Total: under 500 bucks, more hp at the top end, no more spiking with the LBE

Nick,

Find a bookie and put it all on Detroit getting 1-1/2 against the Cards. Then you will have $1,000.00 <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />

That rear bar alone will demolish his budget.

968 m030 would be suite though.

no no no.. The big things will wait till the summer.

I'm thinking of a short-shift kit and maybe a new wastegate....

I plan on keeping the car for a long long time, and I'll be more than happy to give her the thosands of dollars in maintaince she'll need. Right now its time for some goodies though
