I think(hope) so, as i told them it was for a 944/968.
I called my local dealer though, and they said the part #s were teh same for the 993 and 968, and possibly the 928, as im sure you know the flag mirrors are 928 part#s
but theyed be ordering it direct form porsche so id make sure to tell them its for the 944's

Remeber though these are the manual mirrors, though the electric ones were 300+%15

Hmmm, can you stick the electric guts in the manual mirrors? Olli?

I'm game, too. My p-side mirror got ripped off by a stout mailbox during an animal dodge. Given the aggravation with that stunt, the next animal is gonna die. <img src="graemlins/cussing.gif" border="0" alt="[grrrrrrr]" />

Well, the 968 bases, are definately different than the 944's, but that doesn't mean they won't sell the other's to make it work...

I'm going to have to take a stab here and say, yes. I'm pretty sure you could, as long *** you had all of the stuff to do it with. I'm sure the manual ones are the same inside, w/enough room for the pieces- surely Porsche wouldn't have spent extra $ making two totally different types of mirrors(?).And, I just looked at mine, and the electric parts (unless some of this other junk is part of the electric stuff) don't weigh more than a couple of ounces- for those who actually give a rat's *** (people like me who stress about every little pound- even I would just as soon have the electric parts). You can look at Tom Pultz's web site to see a pic of the entire mirror kit w/all the pieces (the retro-fit kit)- I believe he has part #'s listed too. Still, a hair over $200/pr sounds pretty good, and would be worth having manual if you had too- like I said, I paid almost $400 for mine- of course, if you already have electric, then you probably could very well use you internal pieces- I hope someone else will chime in who knows for sure- makes me think I may have wasted $- oh well, I'm getting used to it w/this car

Keith,

if inside reinforcement has holes for those 4 screws, which fastens the electric motor, then you are able to convert them to electric.Into my knowledge reinforcement should be same.I am not sure does CS-mirrors have heated glass, so you have to check this also.Mirror installation is quite siple, you don't have to take the door panels off.Putting mirror base & mount together was (at first) painful, but with m12 socket, extension & bench wise (with brutal power) it was about 20 sec. per mirror.

OK then, my only concern at this point is the base being correct for the 968 (944) door...

I am assuming this "kit" is the base, the housing, the mirror, the mirror mount and the gaskets, correct?

Suncoast just quoted me $265.76 for the complete 968 electric kit which includes everything for the conversion. However this is with a $100 PCA discount coupon as well.

Yeah, I was wondering about that as well. I just ordered my mirrors (complete kit with electrics) from Sunset yesterday. I am wondering if I could get the non electric kit for $135 with the PCA coupon ($205+15%-$100). Hmmm... thats enough to have me thinking I might call and talk with them.

Regards,
