Question about Hatch Swtich / Hatch Motor
Question for you electical folks-
When I hit the hatch switch, the hatch motor's gears no longer does a complete revolution (i.e. it does not return to the position that allows the hatch to lock). The motor just stops turning when I take my finger off the switch, regardless of how much the motor has rotated and it's position. It's supposed to release the hatch and then return to a position that allows the hatch to lock at every touch of the switch, but no more. What can be the problem?
Thanks in advance.

There is an contact finger running on an strip in the gear set inside the motor, intended to take over power supply from the switch (saves your finger for RSI )
This is most probably corroded/covered with grease. Just clean them is often enough.
Note: If installed wrong, the stop position might be reliesing the hatch.
Mark the outgoing shaft relative to the cover and the cover relative to the body before opening the gear.
It can be an long try&error cycle to get the right position back if you dont.
