Post Installed Forge 006P - pic inside

Wow. This thing is big compared to the stock BOV. To make it fit I had to trim a bit over 1/2 inch where it "sits", otherwise there would have been hood clearance problems. I wish I could take it for a drive, but alas the fuel lines are "in the mail". Hopefully I'll have them by Friday if Tim at SFR sent them out today 3-day like he said he would.

When I installed my Forge BOV, I added a 90 degree metal bend where you trimmed. I like my solution better because (1) no cutting of stock rubberstuff, (2) the little line on top won't get crimped by the hood, and (3) mine doesn't rub against the reservoir bottle. Do a search in the archive, there should be pics of mine.

Thaddeus - I looked at yours and couldn't figure out how you made it line up - the 90 degree bend would have been easy, but getting the other part lined up didn't seem possible with mine. I thought that you'd probably bought the 007P which I beleive is smaller.

MR. Thad, wiht the 90 degree bend, does it sound like it's venting to the atmosphere? I put in a 90 PVC bend and I can hear it MUCH louder than I ever remember ?!?!

Never mind - I just found your old thread - you cut the BOV pipe. I didn't want to modify mine in case I wanted to return it for any reason.

Oh and I put that 90 degree elbow on the vacuum line so that it wouldn't rub or be crimped by the hood.

mine mounts sideways so the signal line on the top is actually parrelel to the hood.

I think this peice is much nicer.

Excuse the dust, but I had a Forge here for 3 days and saw my buddies Bailey's for his GTI. I sent that Forge back and have not thought twice. The plunger in this one makes a much better seal over time than the Forge. Some of the GTI's are running 25+ psi with no leakage. It will be a perfect fit for my 951. And the finish is top shelf.

I will have a write up on the site when it is in.

hey jax, when you get around to removing the factory fuel lines and crimps, how about measure them so we'll all know the id/od and crimp sizes, as well as just how to get those things off!, thanks,

Jason
