I saw it this summer running at Road America for the June Sprints. The driver was busy so we didn't get to chat (and I was busy doing my job so I couldn't chat either) but it's a really cool car. Unfortunately the car wasn't doing so well.
TRO Mfg, actually... yeah, that was after Scott bought the car, before it was completely re-worked... apparently the success (not!) at those weekends encouraged him to do the complete rework/resto...

That sure looks like an S2 folks.

WANT. Want bad. Look at that intake....

I took a similar path on the intake on an 8V-2.5 based on a fabricated Michael Mount Weber DCOE manifold that I converted to 'off the shelf' Jenvey ITBs. It got a little tight and necessitated brake mods, but all things considered, all moves in the right direction. It I had to do it over again, I'd fab up a simpler non-DCOE spaced manifold to start. I ran the injectors inverted for hood clearance.

I suspect Michael Mount was the previous owner/driver, and the engine was Weber DCOE carbed on the same manifold with Electromotive ignition at the time. It looks like MM built this engine as well as indicated by the skull and crossbones on the valve cover. MM built a friend of mine's carbed 2.8 (based on an S2), putting out upwards of 320 hp at around 7800 rpm. Point being, it's not that radical (hydraulic/wet sump) and very driveable for a full race motor, plus it's bullet-proof.

Yes, that's my old car, and I still do the engine(s) for it. There seems to be some interest in the ITB or carb set-ups for the 16V 944/968. I can supply info for most any configuration. Simple (and very effective) approach is to go with Weber 55DC0. Power is limited to about 355 due to limited airflow. ITB's provide another 20. There are no real 'secrets' in the engines, just years of figuring out what works and what will allow the engines to live.

Oh, BTW 924RACR, that gearbox is the original 924GTR box. It's a really nice piece; very similar to the 924 snail box but with internal pump and spray bars for the gears. It's a great race box as is the 931 snail box.
