Talking On The Road Again

Some may remember my clutch went haywire on Thanksgiving Day, it turned out to be the throw out bearing retaining ring came off, installed another new throw out bearing assembly to be on the safe side, because I don't know why it came off ( faulty part or faulty install )and I don't want to do this job again for a long while.

Anybody doing a clutch job, I recommend you rent a transmission jack, $25 well spent, I would hate to wrestle that baby by hand

Ok, so now maybe I can finish the new engine break in, 300 miles to go.

Samn damn thing happened to me. Yours took a while, mine in less than a mile on a hard shift. I think I had my retaining ring in backwards when I did it 1st.

Good to hear it is back.. I was wondering what it was.

Glad to hear it. What size injectors are you running? As I started turning the boost up the other day, after running very good A/F ratio on low boost, I went lean above 16psi- Tech Edge. I'm presently running 52# but I'm pretty sure I'm going to order the 65# from Danno.

Dan, click on the P-Car online in my signature some pics are there.

Bret, using 52lb at the moment, have some 72lb to go in with the Guru MAP once it arrives.

Congrats! Now that you're so skilled at the clutch jobs for 951's, would you like to do mine? The TO bearing is talking/moaning. <img src="graemlins/a_smil17.gif" border="0" alt="[blabla]" />

I was reading the Haynes Clutch R & R, and was wondering what the "dowels" that the release lever attaches to are. Also, how does the clutch work (i.e. how does it release, etc.)

Uhhh no thanks The lever is held in place by a rod running thru it, works by pushing in clutch pedal forcing the slave to extend the release lever disengaging the clutch. I think thats about right. It's not really that bad of a job just time consuming, my tip is rent a tranny jack.

They will be for sale along with a Huntley stage 4 MAF, Huntley intercooler hardpipes, Adj fuel pressure reg, Arm 1 and a 1'st gen Apexi AVCR. Will try to sell as a kit first
