[quote] So has there been a consensus on features? MPG vs Boost & 180mph vs 200mph?

My preference is for 180 mph & boost gauge- a la stock

A speedo that reads 180 or 200 is completely worthless if you don't have it calibrated for the new top speed indicated. You cannot simply print more numbers on the right side of the speedo and expect it to be accurate.

I guess I will have to sit this one out because I have an S2 so I don't have a boost gauge nor do I have that stupid MPG gauge (a la BMW). I would be interested but not with the current specs.

I think it will look good though.

Piece of cake to calibrate the speedo! It's optimistic by 5-mph in stock trim anyway. I want a 200mph speedo in the same sweep as the 180mph one (think 400rwhp+ with 10% taller 5th gear)! Then all you need is one of these ratio adaptors to correct the timing pulses so that it's right on! Wouldn't be a bad idea for a stock car either!

Count me in for dual-color faces!!! As long as it's brighter than that picture. How about as bright as the very first photo?

I'd prefer a 200mph and a boost gauge if its as easy to recalibrate as danno says it is (and why would I ever doubt him?). Theres just something cool about a gauge that goes to 200....or one that goes to 11

Danno is right. Again. I have an ERA in my 951 to make up for the addition of 17's. works PERFECTLY and has been calibrated by GPS. Dead on.

James (Turbo Fanatic) shipped them a gauge cluster this week, so we should hear back soon. This is from the email they sent me when I asked about starting the model dev program for the 944:

Anyone interested in some pre 85 944 gauges of this type? Maybe we can get twenty people together!

If you're leading a charge to get pre-85.5 944's, you should include 924's in your list (both '77-82 and the 924S), since we have the same gauges, and that should really help your numbers! Plenty of 924 owners who'd like to update the look of the interior, myself included! You can find the bulk of us at www.924board.org. I'll cross-post to let everyone know to check in here...

I should add, IIRC my speedo goes to 160mph. The one that I want to do, that is. I know there's a bunch of different ones out there. Plenty have 85mph speedos. What do the early 944's have?

Yeah, screw the metric guys. If things would have went as planned, you would all be using the metric system now!

Danno, you want your car to register 200? Imagine what it would look like shooting up towards 300. It doesn't matter kph or mph, as long as the numbers go by really fast!

My car is in storage, but last time I remember, I think my speedo goes up to 160 mph, but don't quote me on that! I am going to research this further, possibly something in Europe available?

Yes, I want the 200mph gauge with boost. Now what I can't figure out is does these gauge faces have the secondary KPH numerals as well, and they're just not lit up? That would be nice because the gauges I've seen with just one set of numbers just look too plain.

According to the SPEED HUT site, you can order your gauges in several different color schemes, fonts, logos, etc. Does anyone know if this would apply to our special order?

Would be cool to be able to choose colors. If they can do fonts, I would think they could easily adjust the speedo to 200 mph or even add kph.

Also, to address the non-boost tachs, I have seen a set from another company (cant remember which right now) in which they provided a blank piece to place over the unused hole and they also included a Porsche crest decal to fill the void. Even if this option is not provided by Speed Hut, you could easily do it yourself.

Are they going to put the 944 gauges up on their web page so we can start signing up?

Anyone know the status of this custom gauge order?
