Id be in if they can do away with the useless center hole/cap in the outer two gauges (see top photo) and can have a 180 MPH speedo. Also, would be ideal to have the actual status indicators tooled into the gauge face, rather than HUGE notches cut out of the top and bottom of each outer gauge like this

Is that the one with the "epicenter" .. if it is .. I had the same kind in my old jetta

Im pretty sure that the places that advertise in Excellence can. Like Palo Alto Speedo, and NH Speedometer do conversions. Its not cheap, but it will be done right. They offer not only color changes, but also mph/kmh conversions, and complete speedo/tachs swaps...

This is the reply I received regarding 944/944 Turbo gauges:

[quote]<strong>
Hi Jason,

The 944 have a Boost gauge that we do not offer. You could order this for
your application, however, it would not come with your boost gauge.

Thanks,
CS
</strong><hr></blockquote>

I asked him about creating some gauges for the 944/951, but I'm not sure he understood that. This seems to be a response more geared towards the "can I use these on my 944?" question. I've emailed him for clearification. I'll keep everyone updated.

Thanks Tadi, put me on the list for a set. I think I've figured out how those gauge faces work, they're back-lit! There's a tell-tale glow around the odometer that shows the light as coming from the back. So I guess they replace the aluminum ones with transparent plastic of some sort with a coating. I still want a set that reads to 200mph!

OK, got a reply. Here's the scoop:

We can start a Model Development program for the 944's! Please check out
the info below!

***The Group Leader is the one who sends in the cluster for his car. Please
don't use your own vehicle's cluster, we don't send it back. The best thing
is to get a cluster from a junkyard (it does NOT have to be in working
condition HOWEVER it DOES need to have everything intact - ie needles, etc).
</strong><hr></blockquote>

So, anyone have a spare cluster off a turbo? I figure we could also send one off of an N/A and then send some kind of indication of the difference between the Economy gauge and the boost gauge. I personally have an aftermarket boost gauge, so I wouldn't need the stock boost gauge to actually function. Has anyone been able to add the Economy gauge to a 951? Is that data stored in the DME in some way we could retrieve it and convert our boost gauges into economy gauges? It would be great to see the needle go through the floor when I get on the boost

Hey All,
ive emailed them about doing the guages with the "carrera" font and the dual color
like these :

so If anyone would like that please let them know
I think it makes it look like a F-16 glass cockpit

For those of you that want to know what the "carrera" font is i have a clean shot of the boxster guages but nowhere to post them. however i did email those guys a pic of it.

I have my cluster packaged up and ready to go. I don't think UPS picks anything up other than air packages tommorow, so it will likely go out Thursday. I will update everyone once they have my cluster and have had a chance to see what they can do.

thanks

Sweet! Thanks for the sacrifice James! <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />

So has there been a consensus on features? MPG vs Boost & 180mph vs 200mph?
