Looks familiar, but I took the plate off because it was so bent.

Dag 85k original miles? I only have...over twice that.

The first thing you should know is that posting here has been shown to lead to timing belt failure.

But seriously....how ling ago (in years) has it been changed. There's plenty to know about these cars, but the most important is to take care of those belts....unless you're handy at swapping heads (which aren't too expensive for your model).

Other than that, search for whatever problem you are having. Chances are good that 100 of us have already had the same problem and 300 people have already provided the solution to it. But if you can't find it....ask.

Do you have records for a re-tension after the belt change at 72k?

I would make sure and have plenty of cash in savings before I started buying purely cosmetic items - you never know when something is going to break.

I'm looking forward to more pictures, too - the 83's have always been my favorite

Congrats!

What others are saying, make sue they have been retensioned after install. They are suposed to be retensioned after 2k miles. I am in NC as well, drop me a line if you ever want to do a mountain drive.

Yeah we need to see some pictures. It's hard to get much classier than wheels that are painted to match the car from the factory. If they are cookie cutters then painted fuchs would be the only upgrade I would get. Bigger modern wheels only really look good on turbos/s2s in my opinion.

Are you interested in autocross? The two local Porsche Club of America chapters (Carolinas and Hurricane) have some events; Carolinas is having one at the VIR Patriot course this Saturday.
the Triad sports car club (auto-x.com) has lots of events right there in Winston-Salem, and the Tarheel club (thscc.com) has events in the area too. I need some more Porsche competition!

Welcome. You came to the right place for online info and support. Rennlist is addictive - Great group of guys. Some might say that the car you bought is a nightmare - Don't listen to them. Ask lots of questions here and heed the good advice you get and you will get a great deal of pleasure out of Porsche ownership.
