Don't forget to pick up the DME and KLR, along with the wiring harnesses, intercooler, intake and exhaust plumbing, clutch, instrument cluster, and all the heat shrouds.
Try the various dismantlers; Ians, Autotechplus etc. they'll have what you need.

Given the fact that you're in Hawaii and the costs associated with shipping an engine to you, why don't you just turbo your NA? I think you'd be the perfect candidate for this.

The two biggest issues are packaging and engine management. Oh, and sizing and selecting a turbo, but that's probably not that huge a hassle.

You could buy 951 components off eBay or have someone fabricate the manifold and IC piping. Buy a stand alone for engine management. Lastly, for the cost of a 951 engine and shipping it, then swapping it, I'll bet you could even put the low compression pistons in your engine.

Of course, if your engine has already ventilated itself or otherwise self-destructed, that's another issue.

if you turbo the na engine you would need all the intercooler and exhaust stuff too, and an intake. If you are doing it yourself it sounds like a fun project but if you are having it done it'll start to get pretty expensive, but keep in mind that the advantage of swapping is that you still have the na engine to sell.

You might try pap-parts.com, out of Georgia. They have 3 or 4 wrecked turbos on the website, for parts. I saw wrecked Turbo S with only 40,000 miles.

Trust me its not worth it to go through the swap. You have to buy the engine, intercooler, all the piping, turbo, intake, dme/klr, wiring harness, oil cooler, instrument cluster, etc to get a mismatched car. You also have to change the transmission and brakes to handle the extra power. By the time you add it all up, just buy a turbo after selling your car. Its much cheaper and its original with bumpers and valence etc. I thought about doing that years ago and now I have 3 951s.

I forgot crossover pipe, turbo, wastegate, complete exhaust system....I think you get the idea. I really researched into this before. I couldn't imagine doing all that work....it would cost you thousands to have someone else do it.

Buy a 951 from CA for about 5-6.5k and have it shipped to HI for about $700 (my cousin had a BMW shipped from HI to Irvine, CA for that much. Sell your car for about 4-5k and save money <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />

Have you thought of supercharging your n/a instead? While you may not be able to modify the power on the fly (MBC's), you can still have more power and, IMHO, supercharging won't wear our your n/a engine as much.

Just my $0.42
