Price for a real 968 Turbo S
Anyone have any info on what a REAL 968 Turbo S might be worth in today's market? I've been looking around and can't find any sales data (not surprising given only 14 were produced!)
Any help is appreciated.

i'd guess between 50g and 60g. that's what i'd expect to pay, for one that's well kept, and has been driven to around 20k. 16 were produced btw, porsche kept 2, my guess for a racing program that never started

I've read everything from 14 to 16. Number varies based on source.

50g is $50,000. it's low production, and even a lot of people i know have never even heard of a 968, so the turbo would be something that would be at a low price, because not a lot of people are willing to pay a lot for a car whose parts are probably near impossible to come by.
low production cars i've found, unless it's a well known car(edsel or hudson, duesenburg) really don't go anyhere in value they kinda just sit for a while, then go up.
i'm honostly doubting that more than 5 have been sold used. they were never brought to the USA by porsche, but i'm guessing someone has brought one over for track duty.
i did a quick search mostly what i've read 15 for the street, 4 for porsche factory racing, and about 5 for various race teams, with 2 of the those converted to street leagleness in europe after racing duties. more woulda been made but porsche was in dire striats in the early 90's, the front engine porsche was coming to an end, the boxster show car debuted in 93. it's sad really, it's likely an amazing car, but i have no doubt someone with money and the right smarts could clone one

Another data point: Bruce Corwin asked $65,000 for a 968 Turbo RS (even rarer), and that vehicle sold to Jason (of Paragon Products). http://www.968.net/classifieds/classifieds.htm

Appreciate it. I'm surprised at the low pricing. It's arguably one of the lowest production Porsches ever made (more rare then the 959, 550, RS 60, 993 Turbo S, etc. etc.) with fantastic performance specs. I realize it's not well known, just seems so low!!

my valueing goes on that they sold for 175,000dm new(don't know what that is in USD). but that means it sold for more than any other car from porsche in its line-up that yr. i'm going based on toyota supra's, they never really lost value, some have gained, most have stayed what they sold for new. and the supra tt is much more common than the 968 turbo s.
i just think a car not well known won't sell for a lot right now, wiat ten years and it'll be up over 100g with no doubt. btw there's a 968 turbo rs for sale in germany, no price listed on any of the sites though

Thanks again guys. If my name doesn't give it away, I'm a 993 and 911 guy, but I'm expanding my horizons. :-)
I've been thinking about a 968 cab for next summer and in looking around I stumbled across the Turbo S. I'm not looking to buy one (Turbo S that is), but I want to write about it for my blog and was looking for some pricing info.
I consider myself fairly knowledgeable about Porsche, but I'm amazed at how much more there is to learn.

Don't worry about it. From the few I've actually been lucky enough to witness sell expect to pay 50-70k for a well maintained example.
However because the market is so soft right now if you could find someone willing to part ways with it(doubtful) you might be able to purchase one for substantially less. The 924/944/968 line has taken a real hit lately and I'm seeing many cars that were brining 20k for instance now struggling to get 12-15k. The market trends seems to affect all models regardless of year.
So if you are lucky enough right now to come across one from a owner just trying to unload his garage some I'd say buy it. Chances are it will appreciate in value after the dust settles.
