Duke, I have never hear of this Bilstein Offset Mount. Could you post more info on this or a link ?

Lower shock mounts are offset. I can get you a picture of them installed from underneath if ya want. My car is on jackstands.....again

SamGrant951,
Thanks for the photo! First time I've see those. If it's not too much trouble, yes I'd like to see an installed photo.

Why Titanium, 303 stainless is 1 tenth the cost, and almost (860 vs 900 MPa ultimate shear strength) yes a whole 6000 PSI difference, but if your rear suspension is placing more than 124000 PSI of pressure you will have worse problems than the suspension mounting hardware.

But then I am sure the aluminum mounts supplied with the kit should be sufficient if properly installed, and at a much lower cost then either the $2 worth of material needed to make them out of 303 or the $20 for Ti. Me personally, I would go for stainless, as it bends at half the breaking force, Ti will bend just before it breaks...

SamGrant951,
THANKS for the info and photos. Looks like the offset shock mount like in your photos would be the best solution for this type installation (but I'm not an engineer).

The Bilstein's do have a good solution for mounting however, they are none adjustable.

Does the KW Varient 3 rear coilover require a bolt similar to the RE bolt or do they have an offset designed into the shock body?

Also, there was a thread this summer about a failure on a KW Varient 3 suspension in North America, did we ever hear how the customer service worked out on this?

just my luck.. the coilover is most definitely bent. pics incoming.

edit: here are the pics.

excuse the bad pictures... but I just grabbed the first straight thing I could compare it against. and the little white hand is not mine. little sister was recruited to hold it up for me.

fwiw, GC has been in touch with me every day seeing where I'm at and making sure I'm happy with em. I think they are closed today, so hopefully I can get their opinion on this tommorow... but it looks like I'll be without a car for longer then I was hoping

I am in communication with Jason at Paragon about a solution for this. Looking at a helper spring and a spacer to ensure the helper and main spring are firmly held together when the wheel is off the ground. Paragon sells the helper, which is a flat spring that only comes into play when the wheel is lifted off the ground. H&R sell what I think is a suitable spacer, but I am trying to confirm if there is enough room for the spacer on the Ground Control set-up.

Paragons 2.5" Helper Spring:

H&R 2.5" Internal Spacers (They call them coilover locating rings):

Will post feedback here.

They are offset like the Bilsteins. They gave me a new lower bolt, but its just standard metric hardware, nothing fancy.
