it wasnt just this one time... it seems to do it after atleast 15-20 minutes of driving.
today i was teaching him how to drive stick... and he stalled (in a parking space of all places) and it would not restart.... so we went inside the mall we were at and ate lunch.
about 30-45 minutes later it started back up.
its near the jefferson ave. and oyster point rd. intersection.
i dont know what his plans are, but ill ask later tonight, and make another post.
thanks

Another vote for DME, mine did the exact same thing when it died, worked on and off for about 2 weeks, before it finaly never started again. I even had it stop running while going down the highway at speed.

I think they are like 40 bucks or something. Very cheep fix. I replaced all kinds of stuff on my old 87 n/a 944 before finding out it was something stupid like this.

Its most likely your DME relay dude. Pull it out give it a serious few taps. If it cranks right up there you go.

I have a few new in box DME's and a set of sensor wires...it is one or the other.
OR
It may be that the Jager flow valve is stuck in the closed position. That would cause the J/RB ratio to be extremely lean. It is a simple fix...but best you have an old pro like myself to show you.

Problem identified as the sensors. Bracket has broken away from the intake stud and caused some chafing of the sensor wire. Sensor wire and harness need to be replaced.
Swapped in a new DME first...no change...but gave them a spare for the glove box anyway
Let me know if you need anything else JT...I am not far....I will sort through and see if I can find a set at the shop tomorrow (sensors)...its' a little slow going w/ the back at the moment or I would have checked on the ride home.

ah yes, many thanks. I didnt even look at those wires, its not like i would have known what they were anyway, but now i do.
its just nice that we know theres another lister in the area.
And when we need help again (it WILL happen), we wouldn't mind driving to you if you're short on time.
