43K or 143K miles on early odometer, how can you tell?

43K or 143K miles on early odometer, how can you tell?
this is a pretty stupid question...
but on early 944s, or even the 924 dash, how can you tell if the car has more than 100,000 miles?
it doesnt show the 1, so what is a good way to tell?

check slow wear items like the rubber pedal covers and door striker pins. Door hinges should still be close to perfect after 40k and would likely show play after 140k.

Ya, door hinges would be a good indicator, my 84' had 64k when I got it, judging from the condition and the way the doors closed (sounds like a new tank)I knew it wasn't 164k

Carfax has nothing to do with maintenance. Carfax has all the information from all the different registrations and inspections/emissions ect.
So, if you really how 100k more miles, you will see some kind of inconsistancy with the miles.
