Default headlight mechanism

i got the carrera headlight conversion kit today from UPS and i was wondering how do i remove the old mechanism...the arms.

i have it removed from everything but the ends that go into the fender well. looking at pictures(sent with instruction of installation) it looks like i do not have to remove the fenders.

any help is appreciated.

Take off your front wheels and open the little cubby in the liner that can be used to take out your side markers, etc. Look carefully up where the headlight mounting bolts penetrate and those are your three bolts. Take them completely out, they are threaded through the triangular plate that holds the pivoting bars for the lights. Everything should just fall out!

o it fell out. i just took the valenco off. i had a tube in the way by going though the way you mentioned.

however now i have some issues, the hood won't open, pull the latch and nothing. also the right light(headlight) blinks when i use the blinkers, and becomes very dull when it's done blinking.

i can fix the light part, but how do i get the hood open?

Try unbolting the pull lever and using a pair of pliers to get a little more length from the pull. (should have a little wire bud end you can monkey on) Wire could be stretched out or rusty and need a little tough love.

Good luck

Yes, you can reach up between the cooling fans and engine and pull the cable there. It's a tight fit but I've done it.

good thing i've got small arms, though it does suck sometimes.

i thought about a shop doing the conversion for me, but figured i could do it cheap, and though yes it's done, and it was cheaper, it woulda been a lot less headaches. now that it's night i'll fix it all 2morrow and post some pics some other time.
