Which model year would you choose and why.
I'm going to go for my 3rd porsche update
and wish to choose based on "owner driven
and owner satisfaction".Rennlist is the best
place to ask ,you guys are TOPS when it comes
to Good honest advise. This will also be
my first Turbo(that much I've learned so far)...!

1988 turbo S or 89 turbo. Good power, suspension, LSD, S4 brakes and all the goodies standard.
If you don't care about having the power, go for the S2.

Looking for Turbo eh??

In Stock form the best are the 88 Turbo S and the 89 Turbo (really the same cars).

If you plan on doing modifications then the 86-88 versions are often better since you mostly likly pay less for them.

Now just because the 88 Turbo S and 89 are the best it does not mean that the 86-88 turbos are crap. These are fine cars and you will be much happier with a good condtion 86 than a poor condtion 89

You may also consider the 968. These are also nice cars with more HP than a stock 86-88 944 Turbo, but less than the 88 Turbo S or 89.

Whacha wanna do with her???

there's also Turbo '90 ..
only 144 imported to States, but they are with us.

I got one...

Go for any turbo, which you find in good condition, and reliable service history.

Of course, 951 S '88 -> are the best..

87 or newer, bcs it they have same wheel offset as porsche's newer cars, ie 968 986. so you can easily put on newer brakes and wheels on your car. also in 87 you have the automatic timing belt tensioner, which is bascilly a joke, but its still nice to have. one last thing, dual air bags were standand from 87-

Any 944 that is an 85.5 or later is hard to beat.

The 87 and up had the differrent wheel offset and slightly changed susp. geometry up front.

Although, if you're planning on racing it, the pre-85.5 cars are lighter. Grab one with the M030 suspension option and there's your winner!

in my opinion it would have to be the 1983 (original, truly a sports car) or the last one a 1991 (all the refinements already in there)

I'm partial to the 92-95 S3 models, myself.
