Hi!

It's for OEM alarm. You should have another key for it.When it's horizontal ie aligned with your door lock, the alarm is off. When it's turned vertical, the alarm -and immobilizer- is on.
Look at the car's ID-tag in your trunk, there should read "533" in the Options Code.

Cheers,Pete

$50 and an hour at a locksmith with land you either another key, or keyed to the ignition. I'd be willing to bet that there's a code somewhere on the tumbler too, so Porsche dealers could cut you a new one from tha code.

Or you could spend ~$100 and install a remote entry w/alarm and wire the factory alarm in with the kits alarm.

A few different ways to take advantage of the nice little extra you happen to have.

That's for the OEM start-disable system. You can check to see if it's still active by pulling off the inside panels and using a shorting clip on the switch terminals to see if your car will still start. Mine was removed at some point before I got it, so I installed a new radio-alarm system that includes shock and door-opening alarm, not just no-start.
