Question Motor Mount and Vibration Question

I am changing the motor mounts with the head this week. The mechanic said the mounts were bad because the motor was sitting low, and something about the exhaust manifold. The car idles fine.

Here is the question:

When I make a left turn at about 3000 rpm while accelerating i hear a vibration like a heat shield coming from the back. Could the soggy motor mount have upset the way things line up, and the vibration/noise be the side effect? Could the low sitting motor vibrate something in the front, and I think it is the rear? If so what would be making the noise?

I will report back when i get the car back next week.

Check the muffler. Mine seems to be loose and is making metal vibration sounds from the rear. I can hear mine at idle if I stick my head right next to the exhaust. It's atleast worth a look.
