As soon as I get past around sixty or eighty mph, the wind picks up my sunroof off of the roof, and the only thing holding it on are the front clips inside. My sunroof gears don't work. I've herd there is a manual override for the sunroof gears, but where is it located? I don't care if my sunroof works, just want the damn thing to stay down, lol.

In the hatch area under the carpet. Should be a nut to turn on the motor

If you don't care about it working, I've heard good things about the sealing properties of duct tape.

It will stay down if you open your windows, unless it's raining of course...

Manual sunroof latches.

You can usually find them on ebay for $30 or less, and they take less than 30 minutes to install.

My electric sunroof is fully functional yet still pops up at high speeds(130-150mph range). I found some white tape in my garage and just ran a strip across the back. It stays down now. If I get around to painting my car this winter, I'm gonna weld the damn thing shut to delete it. It's completely pointless to me, I haven't had that panel off in years.

I'll let you know once I get a clutch in it that doesn't slip. It's a work in progress and my daily driver when the weather allows. I hope to finish the rest of the stuff it needs this winter then dyno it in early spring. So yeah, it's a work in sloooow progress. lol.

Last time I had it on the dyno was with stock injectors, a junk Huntley Stage IV maf, 21 psi, stock fpr, etc...a lot has changed since then, like everything.

(seriously though.....the sunroof is fiberglass - you'd have to weld in a new piece of sheet metal)

I haven't decided what exactly I'm going to with the roof yet, either weld in a plate to secure it then fiberglass over the gap it and smooth it all out, or replace the entire roof with a fiberglass roof, or weld a piece of sheet metal over the opening.

I'll very much second the manual latches. I installed them about a year ago after fighting a long, slow, losing battle with the electric roof. It seals tighter than it ever did before, it's easier to take in and out and I don't have nightmares about brittle white plastic gears...

Other than that, I really like it

Since there's all this talk about the manual sunroof converting. How would I make such a thing possible?

The short version is:

1) Buy some used manual latches, either on ebay or possibly here
2) Remove the lifting arms
3) Remove the latches on the rear of the sunroof
4) Install the manual latches in place of the ones you just took out. You'll want/need to modify the inner panel of the sunroof to allow the manual latches to fold flat when locked. It'll be pretty obvious when you get there.

That's it. A search will turn up some threads with more detailed instructions.

Manual is the only way to go. I've done 4 cars now and never regretted it once.
