Post leaky/squeaky hatch question

I have noticed that my hatch is leaking really bad right now. I know that 9xauto sells a kit for it, but is this something that I can fix with clear RTV silicone?

I was talking to my mech. today and locally I can take my hatch to a glass shop and have it resealed for $60. Hell there's probably $60 worth of trouble to remove it from the frame and all that. Not to mention the chance of breaking the glass like somebody around here did lately.

Figure out where the leak is coming from. If the leak is between the hatch and the seal on the car, it would be a different problem than if the leak is between the glass and seal on the hatch.
