You should just be able to unbolt the four bolts holding the rack on and get enough wiggle room to get the old one off and the new one on.

I was able to install it as Brian described. Something that may help a little is disconnecting one of the tie rods from the spindle. It was kind of a PITA, but do-able.

Don't forget to undo the ground strap before you yank on it...

I've you're going to have it aligned afterward, you can unscrew the tierod from the ball joint.

this may sound dumb because I have not searched, but what does the bushing do and where can I get one?

I believe my steering rack is going out, and I have a spare one ready to replace it with. So now may not be a bad time to do these types of things...

Reduces movement of the rack and increases steering feedback. I got mine years ago from Paragon, its $60 or 80.

Make sure you don't over-torque the bolts when you install -- those bolts have given me trouble....

The rubber mount deteriorates over time. I was finding on the track that after right hand turns, my steering wheel would be canted to the left on the straight - and the opposite on left hand turns. My rack was actually shifting side to side a little under the G forces.

It decreases any slop that the rubber allows in the mechanism. I'll follow up once I get it installed.
