ok im making a circuit. I have a pretty good knowledge of electronics but this has got me wondering. Ive never used a transistor like this before. but dont most of them have 3 prongs?
this is the part of the diagram.
<img src="http://boards.rennlist.com/upload/transistordiagram.gif" alt=" - " />
and this is the power transistor i have that matched the numbers.
<img src="http://boards.rennlist.com/upload/transistor.jpg" alt=" - " />
obviously in the diagram there are 3 connections going to/from the transistor. but i only see 2 prongs on the actual transistor. is maybe the outer metal part the other connection? like do i just solder the wire to one of the holes in the case part? if so i have no idea which is which.
can anyone help me out. Usualy SOMEONE knows about this kinda stuff.
thanks alot!
